Pronounced Bah Car Rah, this is an easy game to learn and has a very low house edge, meaning that you have a high chance of winning.

There are several versions of the game, the recommended sites offer a wide variety, but we tend to play European Baccarat.

The dealer deals two cards to you, which are visible, and two to himself, which cannot be seen.

The object of the game is to use the two cards dealt to you to achieve a hand as close to 9 as you can get, without going over. Bet that either you or the dealer will get closest, for an evens payout, or that you will tie, for an 8 to 1 payout.

Note that number cards are worth their face values, Aces are worth 1, and 10's and picture cards are worth 0.

Here's a betting system to try out -

This can be used for a range of casino games, such as BlackJack, Roulette, etc. but works best on a game with a low house edge, that pays out at 1 to 1, such as Baccarat. The sequence works as follows -

Start by betting 1 unit (say £10) If you win, you now have £20.

Next, bet £30. If you win, you win £60.

Next bet £20. If you win, you get £40.

Lastly, bet £60. If you win, you get £120.

The sequence then starts again at £10.

Only increase your bet size when you win.

Obviously, you will not win every time, so what happens if you lose?

If you lose the first bet, it's £10 lost.

If you win the first bet, but lose the second, it's £20 lost.

If you win the first two, but lose the third, it's an overall £20 profit.

If you win the first three, but lose the fourth, you break even.

So at worst, you lose £20 with this sequence, with a chance of winning £120. You can therefore lose 6 times on the second bet (worst one to lose at), but win it back again with one winning run.
