HOW TO PLAY CASINO HOLDEM - (CARIBBEAN HOLDEM)

Casino Holdem, or Caribbean Holdem as it is know in the U.S., is a fairly new game introduced in 2007, and has quickly grown in popularity so that it is now one of the most widely played casino games around the world.

If you are familiar with Texas Holdem, you can play Casino Holdem with ease, it is basically the same game, but instead of playing against other players, who can be unpredictable, you are playing against the casino.

William Hill Casino Holdem Table

 Casino Holdem Rules.

To start the game, the Players places a bet in the 'Ante' section at the bottom of the table. The Dealer then draws 2 cards for the Player, and 2 cards for the Dealer, all face down. The Dealer then puts down 3 Community cards in the middle of the table, face up.

The Player then looks at his own cards, and can decide to Pass or Call. If the player Passes, the game ends and he loses the Ante bet.

If the Player chooses to Call, then a bet of 2x the Ante bet is placed in the Call section. The Dealer then draws 2 more Community cards, and adds them to the 3 already on the table to make a 5 card 'Flop'.

The Player must then get the best possible 5 card hand using their 2 cards, and 3 of the Community cards.

Once this is done, the Dealer turns his cards over to decide the outcome of the game. If the Dealers hand is lower than a pair of fours, he automatically loses and pays out the Ante bet, with the Call bet becoming a Push, (Tie).

If the Dealers hand is better than a pair of fours, but not as good as the Players hand, the Player wins the Ante and Call bets.

If the Dealers hand is better than the Players, the Dealer wins the Ante and Call bets.

The only difference between Casino Holdem and Caribbean Holdem is that players can make a Progressive Jackpot side bet in Caribbean Holdem, placing a fixed $1 bet in the Jackpot section. This pays out on a Royal Flush.

Payouts -

Royal Flush pays out at 100 to 1, or Jackpot, whichever is higher.

Straight Flush pays out at 20 to 1

Four of a Kind pays out at 10 to 1

Full House pays out at 3 to 1

Flush pays out at 2 to 1

Straight or lower pays out at 1 to 1

Strategy

Due to the random nature of the game, there is no real strategy, or betting sequence that will work with Casino Holdem. As a guide, you are looking to Call 82% of the time, and Pass 18% of the time.

Casino Holdem / Caribbean Holdem has a house edge of 2 to 2.5%, so it's got quite good odds for the player.
